Chef Todd, as he’s known, works his culinary magic in Latitudes’ Hemingway Room, where photos of author, avid fisherman and former Key West resident Ernest Hemingway adorn the walls, lending a nautical air to the restaurant.

The inside room is also beautiful! This restaurant is one that chefs dream of, and Executive Chef Todd Holender takes full advantage of his tropical surroundings. To drink we chose a Argentinean Malbec, of course, my favorite grape and for the dessert the famous Key lime pie and a chocolate ice cream with red fruits. Our main courses were a Tenderloin with mushroom duxelle (yukon puree, asparagus) and a Waygu beef skirt steak (honey and ancho chile crusted). For the starts we had a delicious Carpaccio of Beef. Getting there we went to our reserved table under the stars on the beach and illuminated by tiki torches. It put us in a perfect mood for the rest of our dinner experience. We took the boat at sunset, and it was magic. Latitudes is truly on an island! You need to take a boat to go there and you must make a reservation in order to be allowed to board on the ferry. Brunch is one of the biggest draws here, and their 9:00 am to 4:00 pm service every day makes them generous with the word brunch. This amazing restaurant was the place that we chose to celebrate my birthday. Bagatelle sits at the northern end of Key West’s legendary Duval Street in an 1800s building close to Mallory Square and is one of the classiest restaurants in town.
